he changes that occur in this important stage of our lives devalued and can be divided as follows:
  • Total loss of certain functions.
  • Functional changes secondary to other structural.
  • Loss or functional limitations without demonstrable structural alterations.
  • Changes secondary to failure or interruption of the control mechanisms.
  • Rarely, excess produce responses with increased function.
  • In some cases, changes in circumstances occur only at baseline.

This is very typical in the sense organs. Presbyopia is the limitation for near vision, manifested in reading when the letter is very small and the text is very close, just as presbycusis, which only occurs when the sound intensity is reduced considerably.

It is also the case in heart rate, which remains virtually unchanged at rest but, with exercise, is unable to reach high frequencies that can be achieved in younger individuals.
